SOLARLITS invites submissions to Built Environment and Power Systems (BEPS), an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal connecting high-performance building science with modern power grids. The journal supports research toward a decarbonized, resilient, and human-centric built environment.
BEPS brings together research on intelligent buildings, distributed energy resources, and grid infrastructure. Its scope emphasizes their integration, from building-level performance to coordinated urban energy systems.
The journal invites contributions across five interconnected areas:
Building and grid integration: Distributed energy resources, building-integrated power systems, and vehicle-to-building and vehicle-to-grid technologies.
Storage and conversion: Advanced materials, phase change materials, electrical and thermal storage, and power-to-X applications.
Building performance and climate resilience: Grid-interactive efficient buildings, deep retrofits, adaptive HVAC, efficient envelopes, and human–building interaction.
Integrated energy systems: Urban energy modelling, smart grid optimization, multi-microgrid design, energy management, and cybersecurity.
Computation and artificial intelligence: Energy forecasting and control, digital twins, physics-informed neural networks, and AI-enabled microgrid management.
Researchers are invited to contribute original articles, review articles, and short communications. Manuscripts must be submitted through the SOLARLITS online submission system (https://track.solarlits.com).
Explore the BEPS aims and scope, read the author guidelines, and submit your manuscript.
