Brief Bio

Natalia Giraldo Vasquez is an Assistant Professor at the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy (ICIEE) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), responsible for the Daylighting and Lighting course and leading the consolidation of the daylighting lab. She is an Architect from the National University of Colombia and holds a Master's degree in Architecture and Urbanism, as well as a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, both from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Natalia’s research focuses on the interaction between daylight, lighting, window views, thermal environments, and human responses in buildings. She combines controlled experiments, field studies, and simulation approaches to understand visual comfort, cognitive and physiological responses, and user satisfaction. A central part of her work explores occupant centric metrics, multi domain environmental conditions, and inclusive design for diverse populations, including children and older adults. Her aim is to contribute evidence based strategies that enhance well being and support sustainable, resilient building design. She is a reviewer for Building and Environment, Energy and Buildings, Leukos, and Indoor and Built Environment, and a member of the scientific committees for international conferences and projects, such as IEA SHC Task 70 / EBC Annex 90, IEA Annex 95, Annex 97, Daylight Academy, Daylight Award Community, and CIE.
