Brief Bio

Dr. Muna Alsukkar is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, the Hashemite University, Jordan. She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Building Technology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 2023. Her research focuses on daylighting and building performance simulation, particularly the design and optimisation of solar shading systems and building envelopes. Her work has addressed daylight availability, visual comfort, photovoltaic-integrated shading systems, and the interactions between daylighting, thermal performance, and building energy consumption. Her research also involves parametric modelling, climate-responsive design, and multi-objective optimisation to improve building environmental performance. She is particularly interested in applying artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches to daylighting prediction, shading optimisation, and building design decision-making. She is a member of the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET) and serves as its regional representative for Jordan.
