Dr Irfan Ullah

Brief Bio

Dr. Irfan Ullah currently serves at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, Hong Kong. Previously, he held multiple leadership and academic roles at the University of Management and Technology, including Chairman, Director Projects, and Associate Professor within the Department of Electrical Engineering. His international research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in Taipei, as well as a visiting scholar at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland. Beyond his institutional roles, Dr. Ullah is a dedicated academic entrepreneur who founded both the journal Built Environment and Power Systems (est. 2026) and the Journal of Daylighting (est. 2014), which is currently indexed in ESCI and Scopus with a CiteScore of 4.0. His impactful research and projects have been globally recognized, earning him numerous accolades including IEEE Bronze Paper Awards, several Best Paper Awards, and a prestigious Silver Edison Award in 2026.
